Cornelis de Heem : “Floral Still Life” (1670-1690)

Archival Inkjet on Matte Finish Fine Art Paper

The Ibis’s giclée process uses archival pigment inks on 100% cotton rag paper to achieve crisp detail and rich, lasting color. Unlike posters, they will not yellow with time, but will maintain their original quality for as long as you own them. If you are unhappy with your print for any reason, you are welcome to return it for a full refund.

Cornelis de Heem belonged to a family of still-life painters. While it is difficult to date his works precisely, this one has been placed late in his career, for his work seems to have grown smaller and increasingly precise. Here he highlights the realism of his illusions by attempting to trick us into believing that a bit of paper has been stuck to the surface of the painting with sealing wax.
